Gophers will destroy your landscape. Let the pros at Shakespeare pest control keep your landscape beautiful.
Understanding Gophers
Pocket gophers are solitary creatures, except during breeding seasons or while rearing young. They are active year-round and are known for creating extensive burrow systems. These systems can be as deep as 18 inches below the surface and may extend up to 200 yards in length. The burrows are characterized by fan-shaped soil mounds created when gophers push excavated soil to the surface. These rodents are herbivores, primarily feeding on plant roots, bulbs, and occasionally above-ground vegetation. They are particularly fond of alfalfa and dandelion roots. Pocket gophers carry food in their cheek pouches to storage areas within their burrows
Our Effective Treatment & Methods
Baiting: This involves placing poison in the tunnels. It is a very effective method for eliminating gophers, although it may take up to a week for the mounds to stop appearing. However, it is more cost-effective compared to other methods.
Gassing: We use the Burrow RX device to pipe carbon monoxide into the tunnel system. This method is more rapid, with mounds ceasing to appear on the same day. Although it is more expensive, carbon monoxide fumigation poses no risk of secondary poisoning to predators, unlike some toxic baits.
